Splash Page

I liked Jack's mailer design, I like the one with the date written in yellow better. His design reminded me of the splash page I worked on which I guess I'll post.

My idea of the lines all over is supposed to be like the rhizome image that Allison showed us. Sort of like our class being a collective of artists and the whole idea of the internet connecting us and all.

The colored shapes are supposed to be "buttons" and when one of them is pressed, all the lines collapse (this is a Flash site - don't think I can do this in Dreamweaver?) and then turns into a more current kind of looking splash page.

Rollover Buttons:

Any thoughts on what people think? Still not sure how we should present the web pages to the public, i.e. we use everyone's splash page. I think it could be funny/interesting if we use everyones and it's a different looking site every time someone visits. However I would like to know that people are interacting with a page that I have created so maybe each splash can also have it's own url, and I could send that to the specific people that I want to?

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?

I picked up some wood today, and wheeled it home on a hand truck for about 1.5 hours underneath the train tracks. It was between that and carrying it up numerous flights of stairs to get on the train. I feel like a certifiable pony and/or superhero.

I now have 3 chunks of solid-esque wood, which was to be thrown out by the wood shop until I salvaged it to make pretty things. One man's trash is another woman's treasure. The wood is really beautiful, and I have a few tints of lacquer, and a wood burner. Right, the wood burner. The man at the lumber shop mentioned that many people take wood scraps to carve and burn, and I've been longingly eyeing my wood burner pen for a while, about 2 years to be exact.

So many ideas, so little time.

Whenever I think of a pony I think of:

Break? What break?

Didn't get to do quite as much shooting as I would have liked over the break because my niece was born literally the day I got back upstate so everyone was baby crazy...but I did get to shoot a little and the following is what I've worked on a little bit and like so far.
As per some people's suggestions, I took some blurred in camera and others more focused and then blurred them in post. Can you tell which is which? I can, and tend to prefer the natural look of the blurred in camera but I know that for the final show the images will be a mix of semi blurred in cam and additionally worked on afterwards...this way I have the best of both worlds. sure? sure.

Other than that I worked a little on rigging up a lightbox, Ill post a picture of what it looks like soon.
