Collage

Apparently I have ideas for everyone but myself.

Here are some interesting ways for you to shoot and present your collage. I like the way they're cut out and pasted together. Check out more of Inez and Vinoodh's work here:
The Alphamen -Alphabet made of photos of models
Here I like the way they've made words from their pictures:
The WidowMePassionate
Another cool collage, don't know who it's by:

Lions, Tigers, and Bears! Oh my!

To me, humanity encompasses humans and animals,” says Aimee Pezaro of her fashion line, Ubantu (which means mean “humanity” in Zulu). “The animal heads on human bodies is the combining of the two, illustrating that all living things on the planet should be considered and treated in the same way.” Pezaro’s love for wildlife may come from growing up in South Africa, but the now Sydney-based designer finds inspiration in everything from Karen Walker’s artwork to music by Prince and Björk. The results, sleeveless shirtdresses, dip-dyed denim jumpers with embroidered buttons, and hand-stitched T-shirts with quirky, silk-screened graphics, are enough to inspire an animal attraction of your own.

I hope this gives you inspiration Irina. Keep being creative; do your thing, there is a venue for your art even in the commercial field!

Frick

Frick = reference library.

Half block from Central Park, it is a really interesting experience. Their security system reminds me of airports and they have really inspiring materials.

Art & Money

I just found out about this talk. Some of you might be interested in attending.Art and Money
Artforum at The New School
Monday, April 14, 2008 - 6:30 p.m.

The New School, Tishman Auditorium
66 West 12th Street
New York City

For complete details visit:
http://www.newschool.edu/artandmoney
or call 212 229 5488

Art and Money coincides with a special issue of Artforum, devoted to the same topic, exploring contemporary art’s production, presentation, and acquisition during a radical expansion of public interest and market forces; Is the current boom another chapter in an older, modernist history, or is it truly unprecedented? How did contemporary art, of seemingly endless supply, become so dear? How did Peter Doig become more valuable than Tiepolo? What role does narcissism and trophy-gathering play? Why has contemporary art reached so far beyond traditional borders and how does that affect the world’s artists? Who gets rich, who stays poor, and who decides?
