This is a blog for the senior photography students at FIT, specifically through the class PH-461, the multimedia portfolio. This "space" acts as a forum for collecting ideas about photography, art and technology, as well as being a sounding board for testing out response to new work.

To me, humanity encompasses humans and animals,” says Aimee Pezaro of her fashion line, Ubantu (which means mean “humanity” in Zulu). “The animal heads on human bodies is the combining of the two, illustrating that all living things on the planet should be considered and treated in the same way.” Pezaro’s love for wildlife may come from growing up in South Africa, but the now Sydney-based designer finds inspiration in everything from Karen Walker’s artwork to music by Prince and Björk. The results, sleeveless shirtdresses, dip-dyed denim jumpers with embroidered buttons, and hand-stitched T-shirts with quirky, silk-screened graphics, are enough to inspire an animal attraction of your own.
